Spanish hospital selects Cerner EHR system

The new University Hospital in Asturias (Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias (HUCA)) will implement the Cerner Millennium® integrated electronic health record (EHR) system to automate clinical processes and eliminate paper throughout the hospital. The newly constructed facility, scheduled to open in April 2012, will use Cerner® solutions to access patients' medical history, lab results, current medications and other critical medical data instantly from anywhere in the hospital. Cerner solutions will increase work-flow efficiency in the new hospital while improving patient safety and quality of care for the more than 200,000 patients that visit HUCA each year.
