Farrell Sanders, chief operating officer, Cerner HS, leads operations for the division within Cerner formerly known as Siemens Health Services.
In this role, Sanders partners with the Cerner HS president to manage a global workforce of more than 5,000 associates. He is responsible for Cerner HS solution development, support, hosting and managed services. Sanders is skilled in leading teams that deliver high quality solutions and services.
Prior to this role, he managed the company’s support organizations including Cerner Connect, Application Management ServicesTM, the Upgrade Center and SolutionWorks — all of which provide management, support and resolution to clients’ complex system issues. In 2009, Sanders launched ITWorks, a service that manages all aspects of a client’s information technology including implementation, management and adoption. He also enhanced Cerner’s clinician support experience by establishing the ITWorks tier one help desk.
Since joining Cerner in 2003, Sanders has led many quality improvement initiatives, including implementation of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library process for CernerWorks™, and the quality improvement plan for Cerner engineering. Both initiatives give clients assurance that Cerner meets and exceeds worldwide standards for service management. He also was the lead executive and designer for the LightsOn Network®, a community of Cerner clients that share best practices to optimize and manage Cerner Millennium® operations.
Before joining Cerner, he spent 15 years at Accenture. Moved by a passion for leadership development, Sanders has mentored several associates throughout his career.
Sanders earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Kansas State University.
