Patients Joining the Care Team Through “Co-Notes”

Dr. Joe Boyce, CIO/CMIO of Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, started sharing notes with our patients over three years ago as a way to engage patients through the portal. Currently over 11,000 patients have the ability to use “co-notes,” if they want. Dr. Boyce joined the effort to include patients as members of the care team, arguably the most important member.
