Connecting to a State’s Health Department Through Immunization Registries

Two of our clients recently achieved a first in electronically connecting with their state's department of health (DOH). Using our Cerner Hub Immunization Registry solution, these organizations are submitting public health data to their state immunization registries and reaching meaningful use stage 2. Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center (CSV) was the first hospital to submit to the New Mexico DOH, and Wood County Hospital (WCH) was the first hospital to connect in real-time to the Ohio DOH. Both organizations are able to meet their interoperability goals around MU2, but they are also realizing benefits beyond this mandate.

Cedar Creek Living Center Receives Top Honors in McKnight’s Excellence In Technology Awards

Cedar Creek Living Center, Norman, OK, has won gold for the Quality through the Technology category in the 2014 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards. Cedar Creek went from a paper-based system for clinical documentation to using CareTracker as their point of care solution. With CareTracker, Nursing Assistants at Cedar Creek were able to enter information at the point of care, and clinicians were able to access that documentation in real time.... Read full story

Patients Joining the Care Team Through “Co-Notes”

Dr. Joe Boyce, CIO/CMIO of Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri, started sharing notes with our patients over three years ago as a way to engage patients through the portal. Currently over 11,000 patients have the ability to use “co-notes,” if they want. Dr. Boyce joined the effort to include patients as members of the care team, arguably the most important member. Shawnee Mission Medical Center sees value in Adventist Health System's conversion to RevCycle
