Cerner Middle East is encouraging our clients' employees to take ownership of their health and is harnessing the power of challenges and competition to drive awareness and positive change. The Healthy M.E. Steps Challenge is a competition between our clients' employees to inspire them to keep moving, improve their health, and have fun along the way.
The challenge is administered through an interactive website, Cerner Health Wins. Individuals can leave comments for their teammates, track their progress, and set goals.
Engage People in Their Health
Competitions centered around health, like the Healthy M.E. Steps Challenge, promote a higher level of engagement and ownership over an individual's health that even decades of lectures from physicians, depressing statistical data from news media, and health and safety propaganda have not been able to achieve.
As we becomes better known as a health company and not just a health care IT company, we have introduced a new concept – “Step up to the challenge!” In 2012 and moving forward, we will focus on healthy activities.
And by “challenge” we don’t mean another work project to tackle. No, we’ll be offering a Steps Challenge, a fun competition to help you lose weight, get healthy and make yourself and your teammates proud.
The Steps Challenge is a 9-week competition where Cerner Middle East and our client’s employees compete in teams to get active by competing on the number of steps taken. The team with the highest average steps per participant will be winning iPads. There will also be biweekly drawings for $25 USD gift cards and those meeting various milestones will be eligible to win.
The competition is managed online using a real-time scoreboard. If you’re interested in participating, you can visit Cerner Health Wins to learn more. The registration and tracking period is 1 May to 29 June 2012. Visit the site to setup your teams, get your profile configured and be ready for the competition to start.
We hope everyone who is able will take the Steps Challenge and be a part of the movement to better health. Keep an eye out for future communications and award winners.
